ATR - Day 87: Shifted to Littlearth’s Destiny Farm Resort, an amazing property, and re-charted the itinerary

Much of the day today was spent talking to the officials of several forest departments and thinking and rethinking about what routes to take and which tiger reserves to visit before which.

Today, we checked out from the Derby Green Resort of Club Mahindra and checked into another property in Ooty itself — Littlearth’s Destiny Farm Resort. And this is an amazing property to stay in. We have an unpaved road leading to this place, but once you get here, it’s an experience beyond words. It’s all fresh, crisp and green everywhere. It feels particularly good to us, the dwellers of the cities, because we get to have such an experience only once in a while. We took some great drone shots of the property and they look pretty awesome, which is an understatement. Also, there is a lake right behind the property and that improves the experience of staying here manifold.

Today’s day was mostly spent planning, replanning, charting and re-charting our journey forward from here. I was on phone for most of the day, talking to the forest department officials of several tiger reserves, making arrangements for our stay and permits as per our current itinerary. Naturally, the itinerary needs tweaking every now and then depending upon the safari permits available at the tiger reserves. Furthermore, there are some tiger reserves where safari arrangements are not exactly there, and in many cases, not much information is available online. In those cases, we have to go to the tiger reserve and try our luck on the ground, which is what takes time sometimes and upsets our plans. That’s why we have to periodically sit at the drawing board and rethink our travel plans. And that’s what we did for the entire day today.
